Blinking Third Brake Light Video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4oWj4N7IXE
Been adjusting the resistance to get the correct speed and now I think I need to take about 3-5 blinks out of it. It's on a 15 second delay before it'll blink again; that way when I'm sitting in traffic, it won't be continuously blinking.
Apparently this is DOT approved and decreases the possibility of rear end collisions??? Who knows.
I basically wanted to give this a try so everyone can get a feel how they look on these cars. I may or may not keep it.

The ones that are sold and manufactured blink for 5-10 senconds continuously as long as your foot is on the brake. Once you cross 10 seconds, it stays on continuously. If you remove your foot from the brakes, then re-apply, it resets and starts blinking again.
Most motorcycle cops (and regular motorcycles) have it this way. It really draws alot of attention, which decreases the chances of getting rear ended.

Maybe I'll take it back apart and mess with it some more

I have one in my TA and it blinks at about the speed of my turn signals. It'll blink 5 times and then stays on constant unless it's off for 10 or 15 seconds and then it resets. I did it because it seems to work on motorcycles and wanted to avoid someone hitting me because they weren't paying attention.

seems like newer emergency vehicles like ambulances have led tailights that do like a quick three pulse blip and then hold solid when you hit the brakes. that seems like it would be the best. i would do this if it were easy.....

At this point, I have only figured out how to change the number of times it blinks. The time it blinks (somewhere around 2 seconds) I am still working on. And I definitely don't want it to be non-stop. That would get friggin' annoying
