TCI or TransGO shift kits?
so basically when i have it in 1st it stays until i shift(which i it already does i think?) and when its in second stay in second until i put it into third and then on to overdrive, and also i dont know if it already does this stock because ive never tried except one time i left it in frist and it bounced off the limiter, so i dont know if thats the way it is for all the gears.
and sorry if ive further confused you.

"Holds 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to any rpm.
Back shifts at your command."
So we would all learn something if someone could explain what that means in detail and why we would need it.
manual 1st already holds 1st;
manual 2nd already holds 2nd;
so are we getting manual 3rd that holds 3rd...?
this is just manual mode 3rd only with no 1-2-3 shifting, just 3rd only, right...?
and what is backshifting...?
Think your dyno operator might be fibbin'.
However, I noticed something with the transmission after the installation. It would REALLY jerk the car when i went from [P] to [D].
I talked to Colonel and Kevin Steele @ TCI about this. Colonel wasn't having the problem, but Kevin told me it is doing that because of the increased line pressure. He says it's normal so I take his word for it and drive around like that.
After installing headers and playing with the MAFT, I saw that my LTerms were positive, indicating a lean condition. From previous posts by the Colonel I remembered that when the LTerms are positive, the line pressure is increased through the PCM and therefore gives auto transmissions hell (this was a post about MAF ends and auto trannies dieing from them).
So when I lowered the LTerms, the jerking went away and the car shifts just fine into [D] when warm still mildly does it when cold in the mornings.
Long, but I wanted to be thorough. So after you install any kit, make sure your LTerms are in check.

Yes, MAF ends or ported ends will bring Ltrims positive and they lower the reported load to the PCM which should LOWER tranny line pressure, not raise it. Anyway, just thought I'd clarify. Glad to hear you got your problem straightened out.
How much it jerks when you go from P to D also depends on your idle speed, the difference in idle speed between in gear and out of gear (it can change according to if the AC is on or not as well), and VERY importanty, the characteristics of your stall converter.
With my TCI kit, 3500 stall, and all idles set at 675, it doesn't jerk. It's just quicker and snappier than stock.
It's actually been real world tested in a C5 driven all over the south, not just in a laboratory mock-up. (No flames intended for TCI or Sonnax)
