Default Converter Question

Okay, I know there are a million and one posts out here asking the same question, but I need to know, Vig 3600, Yank ss3600 or Circle D 3600. I know that all three are good quality and that they will all do what they are supposed to, it's just that I only plan on doing this once, so I want to do it right. I have bolt-ons and will be adding 3.73s at the same time as I do the converter. I was also considering a shift kit and I know I am getting a tranny cooler. I dd my car BTW. I have read around on here and have found good reviews of them all, so I just wanted to get some honest opinions.

I think the VIG 3600 might be a bit much for a daily driver. I would suggest you call each of them for advise on which would be best. Tell them I sent you. Vince

I'm leaning towards a vig 3600, but the yank ss3600 is still tied for 1st.

The Vig 3600 would be closer to 4000 since they apparently stall ~400 RPM higher than advertised. The SS3600 is a really popular choice around here and arguably one of the best street converters for a daily driver. At the same time, Circle D's been getting a lot of rave reviews lately. In all honesty, I don't think you can go wrong as they're all great choices....talk about a tough decision.

With 3.73's though, you could afford to go a little higher on the stall speed. My SS4000 was still fairly tight for street duty and that was with 3.23's. I've read that the comparable Circle D (4000ish stall speed) is also very street friendly. Those two would be more on par with the Vig 3600. Good luck with your decision!

i daily drive a vigilante 3200 stall, and honestly i think you will be fine daily driving a 3600 stall. either brand stall are good quality stalls. cant go wrong with either one.

Mr. Swift,

I am obviously biased towards the Circe D option, but will try and answer a few questions for you. I have the "3C" 3500-3700 or the "4C" 3800-4000 that I recommend for your application. I would push towards the "4C" with the 3.73s, better performance and still maintain good street manors. Feel free to give me a call or shoot me a PM if you have further questions.
