Default trans cooler location with APS TT

I have had one of the big b&m coolers with a fan mounted behind the front bumper because it wouldn't fit anywhere else. I am about to install a aps tt kit, so I will have to move the cooler again.

The aps kit takes up any location on the front that I could mount the cooler.

I am thinking about putting the cooler in the trunk in the spare tire space. Would that be a good location for the performance of the cooler. It does have a big fan on it, so Im mot worried about air flow.

Just trying to figure out where to put it

any suggestions or comments?

I've had a similar thought about location. I wouldn't put it inside the trunk though. I was thinking more along the lines of under the trunk, mounted horizontally, also with a fan. If it fits and gets plenty of fresh air, go for it!

Yeah I really don't want to put it in the trunk, but the cooler i have is really big. Unless I'm missing something, anywhere in front of the trans is out.

I will have to look around at the rear and see if it will mount anywhere back there

thats what I was thinking about doing...............don't know how I will like it with the fan coming on in the car. The fan is quiet though and with the spare tire cover and the hatch cover it might not be very noticable

You have a good memory

Yep it is in the passenger side wheel well. I do not have a fan on mine (though it would definitely benefit). I removed the wheel well and my fiance made some brackets to hold the cooler. Then we used braided lines to run it to the trans/etc. I cut a big hole out of the wheel well, reinstalled, and you don't even really see it unless you are looking for it.

I have not had any problems with it overheating.

I saw a post, maybe last month, where the guy had
mounted his up in the rear axle arch with a couple
(?) of muffin fans. Probably about the same run of
tubing, but no dumping trans heat into the radiator
air stream.

Lost of people put it under the rear bumper cover, but if you get rear ended, you will probably have tranny problems.
