Just need an output shaft and tail housing. Programming depends on what you are doing with it.

How hard are those parts to come by? I've seen the 4x4 trans go for a couple hundred.

If you can get a transission for a coule hundred let me know I take a few. As for the case extension and output shaft. if you order on from a 2wd escalade with a 6l80 they list for a little over 300. This is a slip yolk style.

So the internal electronics are the same? All you have to do is change the tail shaft? That seems too easy. What’s the catch?

It really is that simple from a hardware standpoint. The catch is how or what to do with the calibration.

Default 4 wheel drive 6L80E

I have a 4X4 6L80E (C1) transmission from 2007 Escalade, which I need to convert to 2-wheel drive. I tried to test fit the tail shaft. The inner ridge of the tail shaft damaged the seal while I was tightening the bolts (please see the enclosed pictures). It did not seem like a natural fit. Did anybody else run into similar fitment issues?

I didn't see in your photos where you went into the transmission and replaced the 4WD output shaft with a 2WD output shaft. Could that be the problem?
