TH 400 shift firmness?
I just swapped my t-56 for a built 400 and it's paired with a new vig 3200 stall. I was wondering how firm the shifts are supposed to feel. This thing shifts slower and more gently then my 08 tahoe! I was hoping for a slam into gear. Is this normal?

This depends on the shift kit if you used any. verify your fluid level first check the vacuum.

Well its not a new build but it was completely drained when it was shipped to me. I did install a new cooler though. My guess is the dipstick which I have no idea what brand must be wrong. I guess i'll bump it up a quart or two. Can anything bad happen from over filling?

If you want to firm up the shifts you can replace the vac modulator with a vac modulator plug.
Or leave the modulator on it and adjust the screw in all the way. Even with no vacuum line connected it'll help a little bit.
