NO!!!!!!!

Torque converters are great even with a stock motor. They will still give you gains of up to .5 in the quarter.

A Torque Converter should be every automatic ls1 drivers first mod!!!!! The converter will give you the ability to run a large cam when you want to go internal engine however.

Not necessary... I ran a 12.02@111 with a 1.60 60' with the stock motor and a Vig3200. You will think you have a different car with a converter in there. When I did add a small cam, it ran a 11.70@115 with the full interior.

A TC should be on of the first mods you do as an A4 owner

Converter will make more difference than a Cam.

Yea man this should defiantly be every A4s first mod, you should check out Thunder Racing they have many Torque Converters to choose from, they are a sponsor. Also you might want to do some research on TCI, and Yank's sights. They are listed in the sponsors. ---->

If you do decide to get a TC you will need a Tranny cooler and a shift kit (TCI or TransGo work fine). I got my whole setup from TR for just under 722 bucks. Good luck man.

I prefer the Yank converters. Ive run a Precision 3200, Midwest 3700, Yank ST3500, and now a Yank SS3800. Out of all of them the Yank felt like it pulled the hardest up top, and I got the best ET's out of the Yank. I would definately stick with a name brand converter after seeing the TCS thread up top.

Definitly a cooler but shift kit is not necessary as long as you increase line pressure depending on your str.

Actually man, you do need a shift kit, unless you manually increase your line pressure, if you are tallking about increasing the pressure with a programmer its not actually increasing it, it is just specifing a later point when that pressure is released. If you dont get one your verter will feel really loose and your shifts will be very soft.

How does it drive on the street? I mean as a daily driver situation?

My Formula was my only form of transportation till last year, and still gets driven in all but the worst weather. It's had a 4200 or higher stall in it since it was 3 months old (3 years)

This is my question. How sluggish does the car feel if you're driving through a parking lot...say 2-25 mph. Does the car rev really high and feel like it's not going anywhere?

Why does a converter make such a difference?

How much will my top end suffer?
