Default SS4000 owners come on in

Update: New pics on last page.

Ok so my car has a 3200, its fine and dandy for around town and still takes of business, but i bought it when I drove the car more and now I hardly ever drive it. So Im pulling it for something more performance oriented. The ss4000 has been the one i think i want. Before i drop the dough for it, i would like to hear actual impressions (driving, track) and 60 foot times. Especially since my car is cam only i wouldnt mind hearing the cam only/full weight guys chime in with their mods/times. I would really like to know 60 ft times, brake stall rpm, flash rpm, and rpm to move along with traffic.

thanks

The 3200 thats in my car currently:

Awesome converter! I would have gone with it again, but I plan on spraying down the road. It would skate the tire pretty dam good(nittos). I daily drove the car for about 2yrs, and it wasnt bad. You would typical see anywhere from 2300-2500rpm accelerating normally with traffic. MPG still only went down 2-3mpg around town, so it wasnt terrible.

As far as 60ft times, mine sucked bad because I couldnt hook at all. It was usually high 1.9x-2.x

I daily mine and have had the converter for almost 3 years and I love it. Its relatively tight for such a big converter and gets the car moving by 2500 rpms. At the strip I have cut a best of 1.53 60' with a 3700lb car on 255 MT drag radials.

What power levels are you at? I was thinking about going to that converter and also have 3.91's. I wasnt' sure if the combo would help keep my mph up or not with a high str, or if i should get a custom converter?

Detroitmuscle, what did you do, tap the wall?

no, someone clipped my car 3 days before my wedding, then about a month later my motor blew so I spent the money I had saved to get the car fixed and repainted on the new motor.

I run the SS4000 with level 5 FLT tranny and 3.73 gears.Car makes 420hp/385tq and weighs 3650lbs.

I bracket race an 11.5 class and hit consistant 1.52-1.58 60's on 16x10.5 ET streets.

The car is a daily driver 400-500miles per week.

For DD driving I would want the stall tighter but that is personal preference. At the track it's very consistant.

After seeing those videos, I want a stall BAD! I DD mine though, so I don't know if I want to go quite that high. Thinking 3600-3800. But to the OP, I say go for the ss4000, nobody's said anything bad about it yet!

i have 4.11's and ss4000 with stage 3 rossler. i loved it in my th350, i had to have it in my 4l60. no 60's or track times yet. i'll be daily driving mine til i get another beater. still breaking in the fresh motor. cam only. i just tap the throttle and it lights the tires up.
