This isnt the right forum, but ill answer it, you should check out the Auto tranny forum, I would defiantly shop around, TCI, YANK, VIG, all make very reputable converters. You should check out the sponsors--->. I love my TCI SSF 3500, and if I were you I would get AT LEAST a 3500 stall. Good Luck man

You would love the TCI 3500 and you've found a really good price on it.

Yank makes excellent converters too but they do fetch higher prices.

The TCI Streetfighter is a 3000 stall. That is a good price.
I watched a car with that stall pull a 1.52 60' this weekend. Of course, that is with heads, cam, all bolt ons, weight reduction, etc.

I have the TCI SuperStreetfighter 3500, and I think it is the one to go with. You should really consider it. I couldn't tell a difference in drivability between me TCI 3000 and TCI 3500 really.

I definitely agree I would not get below a 3500. I just installed my TCI SSF 3500 and love it. A converter for these car is a must do mod though so good luck in what ever you choose.

My tci 2800 made my lt1 car much more responsive but 3500 does seem the way to go, I have heard rumors on stock ls1 cars clicking off mid 12's with that converter from people who know and think before they speak. In my eyes a $500 mod should be worth about half a second.

I wonder if I just throw 500 in cash in the center console will cut my 1/4 by a half a second

Yeah, that run was -775 DA on worn out BFG Drag Radials and some weld skinnies up front.

Some weight reduction too, but nothing too serious. Front Sway bar removed, all seats removed, spare tire and jack, all other crap in car, etc.

I am shooting for 11s as it sits right now.

I ran 11.82 on a 1.61 60ft with the TCI SSF3500. This was with an internally stock engine, 3.23 gears, drag radials, at 3550 lb raceweight. The converter works!

Damn 3350 lb raceweight?

Wait, are you calling raceweight just the car or the car with you in it?

I need to weigh mine and see what it is.

I would go TCI 3000 or 3500. If you go to the track much do not get below 3500 but, if street riding is what you mostly do then I say go 3500 or below.

The SF is a 3000 stall converter and has an STR of 2.2:1.
The SSF is a 3500 stall converter and has an STR of 2.5:1.
