Vigilante 3600 vs YANK SS3600
#21
remember the vig 3600 is more like a 4000 for any other brand they have stall rating that are lower than they really are...so really you are comparing a ss3600 to a vig (4000)...the vig will be looser...now a ss4000 would be a better comparision...
simple answer i have had both converters ss 3600 and ss4000, if you are a track ***** and want the best times possible na get a ss4000 if you barely go and street drive the car more and care about driveability get the ss3600...

A couple years ago I ran the cc503 with a Yank SS3600 and 3.73's. It was an excellent setup that I daily drove and kicked some *** with at the track. I was so impressed with that stall that I went with a Yank my second go around and would highly recommend that stall for a cc503 car, great match. If the car is more of a weekend warrior/drag car then I would go SS4000 or PT4000.
If you search on youtube under my name, you will find several videos of the car when I had the SS3600.

Well i do know that when you order a Vig. converter they ask you everything like what heads, cam, headers, CB, intake..etc. They also ask if its gonna be mostly a street car or mostly a track car. They ask what gears you have and the weight of the car. Reason for that is so they can basically tailor pick you the right stall for your specific combo and how the car will be used. I remember that when i ordered my Vig3600 back in 2002. So if you tell the saleperson exactly everything i believe they will setup a converter to give you low ET's and also make it MPH as high as a Yank. I remember back in the day Viggy's
got a bad name for not running the same MPH as a Yank of similar stall speeds. So the proper Vig. with run the same MPH as Yank if the Vig. is built for the cars combo. Thats what i was told back in '02 and they got even more efficient over the last five years or so. It's still cool to have 2 companies that make a solid and proven product. Its all good.
