Calling all AUTOS! *LS1 A4 Newbie insite*
Lets see your cars!
Me, and im sure a lot of other new coming and current members are interested in seeing your A2, A3, or A4!

I see alot of new members coming in asking "whats the best setup?". Alot of them do not have a clue in which direction they want to take with their car, and I know this can especially be hard in an auto since we have to factor in stall size, cam size, heads, rear end ratio, to get that "perfect" combo.
Post a picture of your car (if you want) and your current mods, list your transmission and stalls manufacturer and rwhp (if applicable), and explain your experiences with the setup you are running.

Mods: TR230, LT's, ORY, SLP D/D w/DMH cutout, P+P TB, LS6 Intake, UD Pulley, 3.23's
Trans: FLT Level 4, Yank PT 4400
Awesome setup, shifts at 6500 and shift extension is 5700-5800. Best 60' with Hoosier DR's is 1.57 and best ET is 11.62 at 116.08. This is a full weight car with factory Bilstein Level II suspension. Car is a monster from a roll and very streetable. It is loose on the street, but not bad by any means. I've run two other Yank converters (ST3500, SS4000) and I can honestly say that I would never want to go back to a tighter converter.

Mods- full bolt on LT1, CC306, head work, geared and sprayed
Trany- Custom built 4L60E (by me), Fuddle 3400
My last set up was a CC306, 125 wet shot and 3.73's and was shifting at 6,400 and never actually got the car to hook off the line even with M/T bias plys.. MY new set up is a LE custom grind to max out the current set up and maybe a bigger shot.

Converter: Yank SS4000
Car: 1998 A4
Mods: AFR Heads - MS3 Cam from TSP - LT Headers / Dual Exhaust and 3:73 gears
Traction is an issue with this set-up. Street tires are worthless. The SS4000 hits hard pretty much anywhere. My shift extensions are at 6,000 rpm. It takes a bit of rpm to get it moving if you are interested in daily driving this converter. I would recommend this to somebody who wants to play in the upper rpms more than the low end.
I did have a SY3500 - soft hit. It was great. Didnt hit hard but did the job well. I don't think Yank makes them anymore.

Mods: 226/228 113, Off road LT's w/cutout, Ported TB, Pulley, 3.42 gear
Trans: Stock, 3500 stall
Power: 372/368
Very street friendly setup, shift points set at 6200. Pulls hard all the way through and as stated above hits hard and jumps sideways anywhere below 50ish. Does not require alot of rpm to move, drives like stock. Will update times when possible.

This is my first converter. Drives like stock. Shift points are set at 6200@wot. We are still tuning the car, so I can give a full review yet. Car makes 389 rwhp and 375 rwtq on a very low reading dyno, more close to 400+rwhp.

wide body and weight reduced to 3665lbs with me in the car and full tank of gas.
tried to run on old hard street tires one day this fall and could not get traction after the launch with a best 1.9 60ft and 13.1 @108 mph (everytime had to let off mid track to get traction back)
I have the slicks waiting in the basement for opening day, and installing the new cam next weekend......shooting for the 11's next spring.
on the street its down right brutal shifts and can break loose at hard acceleration anytime. under 75 mph mash it, it drops into second, and throws you back in the seat shifting at 6,800 rpms.
daily driven over 60 miles a day
update = motor tore down, milling the ported heads today and upgrading cam to a Trick Flow 238/242 .595/.595 112lsa, good for 3,000-7,000 rpm......will be raising the limiter to 7,300

Stall/Trans:
Performabuilt 9.5" 4000rpm(1.69str) Stall
Level 2 4L60e trans
When it was tuned by previous owner it made 400rwhp N/A, 525rwhp spray'd. It had an Edge 4k stall, and beefed up trans, but that didnt last too long under 'spirited' street driving. I went Performabuilt, and LOVE the setup.
Havent had it to the track, or even sprayed it since ive owned it, but N/A its a strong runner!! The 315/35s Nitto 555s i had on the back dont stand a chance. Very easy to daily drive, i think i need to get the suspension dialed in, and she what shell do at the track.

Power: 429/510 @5psi on a very very bad day I can't even count how many things went wrong and leaks I had. Will check it out as soon as I get this torque converter vibration out of the way.
So far without WOT just rolling on it to 1/2 throttle I am impressed it feels a lot different from the stock converter and 4L60E that I had. The weather has been bad too so the fastest I have been able to get to is about 70mph and my car is vibrating like a back massager. I will edit later when I get it up and running correctly and a few of the mods one my list done.

I am noticing that none of you are posting your rear end upgrades if any. I have been under the impression that upgrading your Auto w/o your rear is asking for trouble.

I've got the stock rear end in my GTO, they are stronger than the F-bodies because of the IRS, but lots of my friends are running Moser 9" rears in there F-bodies after they grenaded their stock 10 bolts

I was told that I should be okay as long as I don't run slicks. My car rarely sees the track. I am in a place that sees all 4 seasons plus it is about a 45+ minute drive away. I have a good friend that is in the 700rwhp range that still has his 10 bolt and only upgraded his axles. I don't think he ran with slicks either.

Mods and numbers in sig. Made about 326-330 rwhp and 330-ish rwtq. This was before the addition of the LS6 IM.
Overall, the new stall was hands-down the best mod I ever bought for the car. I wish it was the first mod. The car had LT's, lid, suspension stuff, and DR's. After the addition of the stall, the car felt like it was a new car. I know a lot of new guys think we're exaggerating when we say it feels like a new car, but once you put a stall in, you'll know exactly what we mean. The most important difference (besides the hard hitting launch) was how the rpm's don't fall down to like 4500 and have to climb back up. My car shifs at 6k and drops to like 5200 or so when shifting. It's awesome and really keeps the car in its powerband.
The car is faster from a roll, but it's still not as good as a decent M6. However, from a dig, you will dominate almost everything you run into. The only other car I've ever had launch harder than me is another fbody with more power or bigger stall. You'll hang with evo's, awd anything, cobras, whatever.
If you're on the fence about a stall, throw the fence out and get one (along with a cooler). You'll thank yourself later.

No rear upgrades for me. I heard than auto's are easier on the rear than an M6. I raced every week at the strip with that stall for over a year with no rear problems.
