3400 Stall with 3.73s; Gas mileage?
I've been looking to purchase a stock or mildly modded WS6 in my area and came across a listing for a 2000 WS6 running a 3400 stall with 3.73s. Otherwise, it's a bolt on car. The car would be a daily driver for me, and I hardly ever get on the gas. Would this really kill my gas mileage, or would it only drop a mpg or two?

My car stock got about 20-25 mpg, I know my converter killed a few mpgs with soft driving. Slow your hwy speeds a bit and that will help on the interstate. The 3.73s will actually help you in town for MPG bc they will make the stall flare up less.

Really? How so? I have 3.73's sitting here itching to go on.

I drive about 20 miles a day to work currently with a 2000 Mustang GT, so my gas mileage isn't anything great to begin with. I get get pretty solid mileage in the highway though, about 26mpg. I was originally looking for an m6 but I'm starting to like the idea of a stalled auto.

I'd love to but I just don't have a need for two cars. I called the owner today and he said that he gets about 18-19 mpg in mixed city/hwy driving.
He also said that it has fairly loud gear whine, which is something I'm glad he mentioned. I've heard Richmonds tend to be loud, but I've also heard it can be from shops being cheap on the install.
Unfortunately, it's starting to look like it might be very difficult to get this car through MD state inspection. It's got longtubes with cats and no AIR as well.
The car has what I want but I don't want to end up getting screwed with the inspection.
