2-3 Shift Solenoid?

2-3 Shift Solenoid?
I've been having problems with my 2-3 shifts at WOT, could it be the 2-3 shift solenoid? Where exactly is it and where can I get a new one? Tranny is brand new and TC has been refreshened, this has been happening before the new tranny.

Check it with ATAP, if it is the 2-3 solenoid you should be getting a code. Do you have custom tuning? It could be the MPH or RPM shift settings. Is it hanging between shifts?

There is no 2-3 shift solenoid in the 4L60E. There is an "A" and a "B" shift solenoid. Here is how they work together to change gears.
1st gear, "A" on; "B" on.
2nd gear, "A" off; "B" on.
3rd gear, "A" off; "B" off.
4th/OD, "A" on; "B"off.
Since "A" is already off in 2, if there is a solenoid related shift problem, it has to be "B". You should see something like 'P0755'; "Shift Solenoid B Malfunction". 'P0757'; "Shift Solenoid B Stuck On" or 'P0758';"Shift Solenoid B Electrical".
Get a scanner/diagnosis from a good shop. These trannys are far too complex to 'bench diagnose'. And you can waste a bunch of money replacing 'this and that' and still not cure the problem.

remeber with a converter you will get spongy shifts on a internaly stock a4 --my car shifted real hard from the factory --lost it when i put a 3500 stall in -- most likely nothing wrong with the tranny --try a billet servo

Could it be the fuel pump or fuel filter? This has been going on before the new tranny, and I'm not throwing any codes. Before the new tranny I kept blowing the 3-4 clutches every month for the last 5 months, that's why I got a new tranny. What kept the tranny from doing this, besides that, the shop told me that the input drum was totally fried, I don't know what else to try. Tranny shops down here really suck.

PCM is partly to blame for commanding slow-***
soft shifting. Get it programmed (if it already
hasn't sanded itself smooth from all that
weak apply under power) and you'll see a
real difference in behavior.
Note that at part throttle your GMAF may be
causing the PCM to think it's under less load
and needs less apply pressure and can stand
a more leisurely shift.
