what can i say but WOW! I just want to thank miriah for guiding me in the right direction & cartek for the install...as well as everyone on this board for steering me towards tci. Car runs like a champ with this converter in even with the 2.73's i can light them up at a 20-30mph roll and the shift extensions are great it barely even falls hehe just stays right in the powerband...anyone thinking about this or any other tci converter dont think twice great bang for the buck.

just got the same TC on thursday and yes i love it too even with my 2.73 already made slicks out of my street tires time for some nitto's

 

Congrats, cant beat TCI for the money.

 

I love mine except I have 3.73s. Great converter, can't be beat for the price. I cant wait to get some track times.

i can wait for some track times...atco is open on sundays throughout the winter but with 235's out back and a cold track would make for some 2.6 second 60's i think lol until i get some sticky's on the rear i have to feather it off the line otherwise it just lights them up doing like 20mph lol its pretty sick actually considering the gearing im still pushing...id like to get some skinnies and some 26 in tall dot legal bias plys out back so i can save some rotating mass in the process...im hopingn for some high 1.6's or low 1.7 60's once i get that done and hopefully some 12.7 passes in the process but the fact is by that time ill probably have my headers & cam in so that might dwindle down to 12.0's or heaven forbid high 11's

 

I think you could do better than a 12.7 with some good meats out back. Maybe around 12.5 or less. Good Luck

well last time at the track i ran 13.3@106 so im just thinkin 6 tenths maybe 7 it all depends besides i had really good air that night so itll be hard to do much better i believe, but i guess we'll see

 

TCI =great converter for the money. I don't think by paying more for a converter makes you any faster.

 

and it seems that with kevin lurking the board hes helped out so many members id have to put alot of faith in their company

 

I really want this converter. I think it's like, $458.00 new.
Think it would really compliment my 323's.
On the other hand, i am contemplating a complete TR224/112 cam package.
i have 123K on my 2000 Z. I drive this car every day. Very meticulously maintained. Have had since new.
If you could do over again, which would you do? Vert? or Cam & stuff.
TR has there complete cam packages starting @ $799.00.

Got that exact converter going into my '94 in a couple weeks.

Can let you know some impressions then.

 

Do the converter first then the cam later or if you can the two at the same time that would be even better.

The converter will give you the best sotp improvement.

I just ordered the TCI Super Streetfighter 3500 about an hour ago from Thunder Racing. I see people talking about their cars feeling loose with 2.73's. what are they talking about? i also ordered a b&m tranny cooler and predator programmer. is there anything specific i need to do with the shift firmness or shift points to keep everything intact? I'm anxious to see what its like with a converter!

loose meaning when you step on the gas, the rpms are going up but the car really isn't moving and the converter isn't locked up.

i have no issues and i run a 3800 stall with 3.23's.

I adjusted my shift points to 6 grand, and put a trans go shift kit in. I don't believe in adding more line pressure.

you'll need a shift kit cause the shifts will feel really slushy.

 

even with my 2.73's i wouldnt consider my converter too loose for street driving but thats me and this is my first converter so its not like im really used to driving a really loose converter around this is coming strait from the heart pewtery2k go with the converter itll give you better 1/4 times than a cam by far...i have a shift kit in my car and no programming done...around town i leave it in D this will lock the converter at around 30mph and it will drive like normal...on the highway i put it in OD and it locks at like 40mph so its not that bad but it took alot of the bang out of the shift kit.
