Hi guys im getting really stressed out, i just finished my jeep 5.3/4l60e conversion and month ago, and my tranny wont shift in third..... ive been having this problem ever since i finished the conversion......... and i just rebuild the whole tranny and it still wont shift into 3rd, i dont know if the problem in mechanical or ECM related!!!!!! how do i check... i have HPTuners if that helps in any way

Unplug the harness from the trans it should default to third gear and you should only be able to select 2-3 manually that will tell if the trans is the issue

 

ok guys i used hptuners and it shifts into 3rd and 4th fine... i think my problem... i have no speedo which mean i think my tranny doesnt shift because it doesnt know what speed the jeep is at... what happen if i set all numbers in shift to "0", will it shift using tps only?

 

I'm guessing you have no place for a speedo pickup on the trans? Is it 4x4 and what transfer case

 

yah i dont, its a np241 jeep wrangler 2008 transfercase....

 

Yes you have to have a speed signal or it will not shift right.

 

cant i tune out the vss?
