Congrats on picking a trans. Im sure it will feel like a whole new car once you get it in!! Make sure you flush your cooler lines, just in case there is something in there, you dont want it takin out your new trans. A cut and clean on the stall probably wouldnt be a terrible idea either, in my opinion.

I am in the same boat here, 3-4 just went out in my Z and I'm trying to decide between FLT and performabuilt...
Based on the build components, how do the Level1 from Performabuilt and the level3 compare? (They are nearly the same on cost.... Performabuilt does have the 2 year warranty though...)
What are the significant differing points on the two trannies?
Any thoughts?

I've had a Performabuilt LVL 2 and their 3500 stall in my car since 2007. Works fine. I have around 5000 miles on it I guess. Haven't been to the track yet. But I will soon after the 383 goes in. Only issue I have had is the stall sometimes locks/unlocks while driving down the road. But I do not beleive that to be a problem with the tranny/stall. I think it is throwing a misfire code somehow and causing that.

That's a bummer... I have no truck and no friends with trucks! I've been going back and forth on which tranny to get (performabuilt or FLT) and this may make the decision for me! (That, and the fact that Yank is still closed for the 4th!)

Well another thing to consider is you can take your core to the terminal with you. Swap the new transmission out of the crate, put your old one back in and we will take care of the shipping from there. We would just need to make sure that you or the freight terminal has the BOL paperwork before you arrive. Hope this helps. Vince
