Default 4l60e shopping for prices

i've been keeping an eye in the classifieds for a perfomance built 4l60e but might as well order one so i know what i have. so far found these and *edit*. this is for a 02 stock ss. i want a good street machine that will take a beating and last a long while.

one question i have cause this is my first automatic car in years is, do i need a new TC? or will the stocker work? it wont see any track time.

http://performabuilt.com/level-1.html - $1600 no core *come with cooler and flush kit

http://www.finishlinetrans.com/trans...rmance4L60.htm - $1650 w core

http://racetransmissions.com/store/p...roducts_id/211 $1,599 w core

http://rpmtransmissions.com/levelivauto.html $1,995 w core

all suppost to be rated around 500hp for a 98+ lsx car

if anyone has any personal reviews of any of the above companies or can add to the list please do.

not sure who i'll go with, i've seen good an bad reviews. with an internet ordered product their is bound to be a risk, so i'm also adding customer service to one of my prerequisite before buying.

What part of the country are you located in?

I ask because I would recommend that you go with a company that has a very good reputation who is in your area. If that's not feasible, then I would take some time to talk to every one of the folks you mentioned... and listen between the bullshit sales lines. If you aren't able to talk to the builder and get to know him, I wouldn't even bother myself.

thanx outlaw

i'm near the atl area so i should have access to good shops, a local shop i have done business with will do a stock rebuild for $1300. thats pulling it out, rebuilding and reinstalling it. they have done 3 dodge tranmissions and all turned out great. but their performance rebuilds might be costly if they even offer it. i will ask.

it's funny you said to get to know the builders.. a builder contacted me and were talking about a build. i cant find any feedback but might give them a shot if i get a warranty.

I've got a Performabuilt LVL2 in my car, i ordered a tranny convertor combo and love it. Performabuilt, FLT, and RPM will all build you a top notch transmission for your needs.

Get a higher stall aftermarket converter. You wont regret it, coming from a person who never tracks his car. Contact sponsor for specs based on your setup.
