stall converter questions
I know im not a newb on this website but i am a newb with automatics. I rescently got me a T/A to DD to keep the miles off my z06... Im looking for a torque converter for my 98 trans am A4 2.73. I want to order an at least 3400 stall to wake my car up a little, and yes im giving ebay ones a chance... can get a 3600 for 325 shipped there...
I just have a question, will i have to tune my car after i install the stall? If yes, then Would a simple "diablow" sport tuner would do the trick? Thanx.
Or is it just "plug N Play" ??????

I knew that, (in fact I have googled it before) I just wanted one of you guys to briefly tell me what it does in reference to our cars.

while others can explain better im sure itll help keep your car in its power range and remove dead spots. Im sure youve noticed at certain speeds when you go wot it feels sluggish around 30-40 mph.

I've read that running 2.73s with a stall can be harder on your trans since it requires more out of the car to get it rolling, takes longer to get through the gears and has to rev longer. You may want to consider a tranny cooler, a new flexplate, and a tune as well. It starts to add up, but you gotta do it right.
