I had 3.73's in last year and I live in a very hilly area. It is fine. I drive 30 miles to the track every weekend. It locks up perfectly and doesn't chatter like the Yanks do.

I have had a yank 4400 extreme, yank 4400 and now a yank 3800
I have always had good luck with my converter. Yes same one changed and changed agin. Guess what I got it used to start with and was never hardly charged anything for restalls.
Mike is good in my book and his converter's rock.
I think from what I have seen they are some of the most effcient big converters out.

TCI may be great also. But Yank is the top dog.

Raughmamer cut a 1.3x 60' with his YTP 4400, but I believe he was heads & cam at that point. You might look at Wilwaxu, I believe, but am not 100% certain, that he was cutting 1.4s as well last fall.

You're right about the spray, the YTP 4400 isn't a good choice for that.

The TCI 3800 may be TCI's best converter. Seems like I recall others posting good results with it. I'm not sure that the TCI 4400's are posting consistently better results than what you're getting with your 3800.

You must have one powerful car and caught a great weather day to get to the track. You are right, i have never cut a 1.4 60' SI with my car, but I did cut a 1.50 60' and that was on DR's

It locks up perfectly and doesn't chatter like the Yanks do.
I have never had a problem with my Yank chattering as you say.

As far as Yank's customer service goes, I talked to Mike when I ordered my converter and he was very helpful, and also got a chance to talk to him in person at the Thunder Shootout and he is a really great guy. Other than that I have never dealt with customer service, because i have no reason to, i have had 0 issues with my converter and it performs extremely well.

Thats nice you can hook on DR's Mine doesn't always hook on ET Streets, but I guess you probably have hals, soft springs, and all the other supporting suspension mods. Wish I did On on stock shocks, 1.5" DMS lowering springs w/relocation brackets with the only suspension mods being BMR SFC, LCA's and PHR. Still on stock TA and my car weighs about 3550-3600 with me in it

From my own and first hand knowledge of others experiences the biggest difference between TCI and Yank is the complete and total lack of customer service from Yank.
What is even more aggravating is the BS answers and BS excuses Yank uses to justify converter failure and not honoring the 2-year converter warranty.

Read the post at the link below for yet another example of GREAT yank customer service.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls1tech-sponsor-feedback/147119-yank-where-my-refund.html

From a performance aspect there will not be much difference between the two.

For me its all about cost. I can afford a yank, but I'm getting a TCI because its $400 cheaper than a yank. I'm very frugal and TCI gives you more for your money. With that $400 I can buy more mods that will far surpass any performance gain a yank might have over a TCI. I'm not settling for something cheap either, TCI has proven reliability and free restalls.
