3200 converter on mostly stock setup?
I am about to have my rear main seal and torque converter replaced.
Right now all I have are a couple of bolt ons (headers, x-pipe, lid), but I want to make sure to have the new converter in before I start really focusing on power.
Will a 3200 stall function ok on the mostly stock setup I have now until I can afford to beef up the engine?

I got a circle d 3200, with LTs and lid, also added trans cooler and swapped 2.73s for some 3.42s and it is a great dd that runs 12.7-8 at the track on street tires.
Convertor is a great mod and most say go bigger but for a dd the 3200 is great.
GL with your choice.

Yeah, I'm really scared to go TOO big. lol I thought a 3200 would be a decent balance.

I may go to a 3600 depending on my cam... my trans has less than 400 miles on it... I had just finished the break in when I took it to a meet and blew it that night....

Anticop that sucks man do you know exactly what happened? And didn't you just get everything rebuilt.
Op that should be a good choice for your car. Im personally going with a 3600 so when i decide to put a cam in I'll have a good selection to choose from. Do you have an idea on what brand yet?

not sure yet how Im going to do it... Im not in a rush now so Ill just look around and see what I can come up with... Im really leaning toward an LQ9 or LQ4 and some spray..... Either way, I REALLY wanna go with a 6.0. My buddy has a LQ swap in his Camaro and the torque curve is INSANE... After driving his, I was convinced...

I'm just scared that the driveability of my car will take a pretty big hit with something like a 3600, especially until I can focus more on my engine...lol
and unfortunately I've never ridden in an ls1 car with anything other than stock converters so I guess that makes me especially scared to do too much.
As far as brands I'm looking at rev max or circle d, they seem to be good quality and are affordable

go with revmax, get the kevlar lockup.. 3200 will be nice, 3400 if you want a good hit.... my drivability didnt suffer a bit... its damn near like stock.. kindof feels like youre in mud when you take off but that feeling quickly goes away and in a few days, youll be used to it... mine locks up at 40mph if im easy on it so city driving isnt so bad.... trust me man, its worth it... I chose a 3200 and everyone told me Id wish I had gone bigger and I do... Ill go with a 3400-3600 next time.. depends on my cam I choose... BUY THE STALL... go to Revmax ****SPONSOR**** They shipped mine for 360... couldnt be happier with it...

Now I'm seriously considering going a little bigger. Lol yours still seemed easily driveable, and since I'm not shooting for crazy high power numbers I need to get an edge wherever I can. Decisions decisions. Lol

only problem is if you go too loose, your tranny will think **** is slipping and go into limp mode.. ive heard some guys have issue with 3600 and need shift and redline adjusted cause you bounce the limiter before it tranny thinks its time to shift... some guys have no problems at all but its something to think about..

I think Revmax's site is borked or something... I was on there earlier trying to check out their offerings and they didn't have anything listed. I'm still leaning towards a Yank 3600SS or a Circle D but for a mild powered daily driver I'm not sure I need such a beastly built converter. (that and I'm trying to be more frugal)

Op I'd give yank, circle d, or any one of the sponsors a call they could spec u something sldepending on what your plans for the car are. But going 3200 on a dd would be good but.
