performa built fail

A failed converter sprag will not cause a no movement condition. It will change the stall speed but the car will still move.

Like I said just a guess the only thing I know right now for sure is the trans was perfect inside did work with our test converter fine. But as we did not get the trans back at same time as converter when we tested with returned converter trans will not move at all. But inspection of the splines show fine, Will know more once the converter is cut.

Another performabuilt horror story.... That's the main reason I went with FLT. the fact that they test all their transmissions before shipping them out was a nice reassurance for me. I also placed my order with finish line and had to wait a month for mine to be built, not a few days...
I'm thinking you didn't put enough transmission fluid in it also. Mine wasn't shifting into 4th after I installed it and put more fluid in their. Worked fine after.

I went with FLT also. Went down to Chicago to pick up the transmission personally and got to take a tour of the shop and how they build all their units. Great guys and cool shop. I've had my FLT Stg 6 for 3 years and it's been great. Took about a month but well worth it.

Based on the OP, the car didn't even make it into 1 1/2 miles before it broke.
With the millions and millions of converters in cars today and their reliability, what caused this to happen to this particular
converter?

LOL well like I said during the day I can't see what I am typing because I have a broken screen! But hey I apologize for being rude just so tired of hearing dumb comments about being installed wrong! Its not hard to install a Trans! And right before your comment Frank said they found it was the convertor fault.....

No big deal. I honeslty didn't see the post where he said the converter broke since I didn't get that far in the thread. I've never heard of a converter breaking at the hub and rare a transmission to be broke after a mile of use. That's why from my experience I could only think of something with the installation. Hope it gets done soon and you get back on the road. Good luck.
