Default Torque Converter install ruined pump?

So first auto car Ive built and was unaware to place TC onto tranny then bolt to flywheel/motor. Bolted it onto motor/flywheel first. Clocked ears on TC by eye to notches on tranny and slid tranny on and bolted up. Car starts and and shifter goes into gear but car doesn't move and no pump pressure. So question is what are the chances of simply removing TC and reinstalling correctly and being good or will I for sure most likely have to replace the pump? Also there were two connectors on the harness similar to O2 connectors that ran back to the tail of the tranny pretty sure that don't go to anything or am I wrong. Don't remember disconnecting them or seeing a sensor to plug them into. Thanks, Oh forgot the cars a 98 Z28 (auto obviously)

Will most likely have to replace the pump, usually this happens if the converter isn't in all the way and then bolted up, and I think atleast one of the plugs is for the speed sensor

If it was not engaged -at all- then maybe no harm
has come of it. Partly engaged, you might strip the
pump shaft I guess. May as well give it a try and see
if you can seat it right. Can you inspect the pump
input shaft for signs of fresh damage?

Huh?!?

Sounds like you have a lot of reading to do, ..., in order to learn how to do it right next time.
Look up top here, ..., 'Stickies', ..., read all you can as there's a lot of good info there on what to do & how to do it.

I've seen this happen before on a buddy's car except he simply didn't push the convertor on the input shaft all the way...same result, ended up breaking the trans pump. sucks and a shitty lesson to learn esp. when your doing it all on your back without a lift lol
