Alright guys my question to the stall guru. As of right now im running a 4k stall and was told that if i were to go to a tighter stall around 3200 i would see a better time i know the looser the stall the pwr wont show as high right now best time is 7.6 @90mph with 1.54 60ft

For real though if you're just lookin for better times and driveability isn't a concern, I'd go bigger than 4k. I'd do 4200-4400. You're cuttin a 1.5 60' so it sounds like you got the tires and suspension to handle it. I'd go 4400 and never look back.

Yea driveability not a issue with me yea im not trying to go that high lol then reason i was asking cause i will be having my transmission rebuilt and gona have a local shop refreshin the stall up and was told that a tighter stall would get me better time so they could tighten it up a little but if not just have them look at and clean it up

from what I understand a TC's feeling of "tight" and "loose" is dependent on the STR(static torque ration). The higher the STR the "tighter" it feels. Gears can also make a stall feel tighter. So you need to find out what your current stall STR is or atleast get some type of close idea. Then you can ask whatever shop you're going to if they can raise the STR. Idk if you can get the STR raised in the process of a "restall". Someone else on this forum may have some knowledge of that. But if you can't then you could call a shop and tell them what you have now and get them to build you a TC with the desired flash speed and higher STR.
As to your question about nitrous, there are TC's specifically designed for use of nitrous. I'm pretty sure there are some "off the shelf" TC's that work well with nitrous but probably wouldn't be as efficient as one designed for it.

Like BMZ is saying its not just dependant on what rpm it flashes to. A smaller converter will be looser than a bigger, and STR plays a role too. But everything equal, especially in your setup, up to a 5000 would be best for performance. If it was me, I'd go 4400 if it was anything other than a track only car. Even a DD. I have a 4000 PTC 10.5" with around a 1.5-2.0 STR in front of 2.73s, and I cut 1.70s in a mostly full weight lid cat back car. With some 3.73s and full bold ons 1.60s should be no problem. Look at the 'fastest' lists and you'll see most of the top guys are running 4400s and some guys as high as 5000. I'm also a fan of custom speced converters.
