help with torque converter identification
help with torque converter identification My boss gave me a converter that he got with an engine he bought. Im trying to find out whos it is but I only have the stampings from the converter and there is not much on it. It looks like a 9 to 10 inch with what looks like a billet bottom. It has "PT0925 1" stamped on it as well as "5 * 00" I have already called pro torque and its not theirs any help if you recognize these markings would be appreciated. Thanks, Vince

Looks like a Transmission Specialties front cover, but no idea who built it. It probably has a bushing in the front cover, you can check by spinning the converter with an input shaft and see if the turbine has any side to side movement.

Verdad Gallardo Thanks Chris. I called Trans Specialties and they didn't build it buy they did say they sell their covers around the industry. I put the input in it and tried to push the turbine side to side and if it moves at all its only a very small amount. I think its just the play in the splines so im going to put it in and hope for the best. Thanks for the help, Vince
Thanks for the reply. Its definitely not a Pro Torque I called them first because of the "pt" in the numbers stamped on it.
