Default 4L80E cooling lines installation

Looking for a better way to install cooling lines that will keep lines closer to trans. The way I'm doing it now requires tunnel to be bulged outward.

I have not tried these myself, but there does appear to be banjo style fittings that could help.A quick google search brings these up as a possibility: http://www.sweetperformance.com/prod...product_id=518

I currently have the sweet performance fittings they look solid and I believe they will perform great. They were very prompt on shipping

I have used the middle finger ones, but ordered those banjo ones just to look at them
you can get a couple AN #6 steel 90's to 1/4 pipe, cut them down and weld them to the stock fittings, pointing the way you want-works good

I got those sweet perf. ones in the mail yesterday just to look at them, maybe for a future project-nice piece, but playing around with them, if the bolt hole isn't lined up with the banjo fitting opening, you can feel the restriction just blowing thru them-if I used them, I would mark the opening in the bolt, screw it in, and if it didn't line up with the nipple, I would come up with some shim type washers, ad until it lined up, would give you max flow
I tend to reinvent everything, lol

Sounds like wise advice to follow, and noted.

With car the 4L80 is going in, I may or may not have clearance issue problem with other car, or it may be worse as this project has Trans Shield per rules as well as Flexplate shield. Want know until Body work is finished and body lifted off frame for paint what effect the shield will have on fitting clearance with trans shield vs trans tunnel in other car.

I am using these fittings for my 80e conversion and they work great. I did almost this exact thing also but instead of using washers to space the fitting out I simply turned the outlet tube to match where the hole was drilled in the bolt shaft for max flow. IDK if it really matters or not but It cant hurt and was easy enough to do.

I have taken the car on several trips of around 150 miles or so and several crusing around days with no problems at all.
