The code "3thd" means
The of production is 2003 for the '3' (could be 1993 but I don't think they made 4l60e's in '93)
"th" refers to the engine/vehicle type
'd' means it's a 4l60e transmission
Thanks for any help.

It has the 298mm input shaft (LT style, not the 300mm LS style).
As long as it is not a '95, it should work just fine for you as a '97 is also 298mm input shaft, and '96 through '05 are electrically compatible.
We just need to be sure it is not a '95, as some (all?) '95 are PWM but have a different 3-2 downshift solenoid than '96 through '08 transmissions. Drop the pan and remove the 3-2 downshift solenoid which is in front and on the driver's side.
3-2 Downshift Solenoid
------------------------
1993-1995 - White connector, metal stem, resistance of 10-15 ohms.
1996-1997 - White connector, plastic stem, resistance of 20-31 ohms.
1997-2008 - Gray connector, plastic stem, resistance of 20-31 ohms.
(Both White and Gray connector color used in 1997)
2009+ The 3-2 downshift solenoid was eliminated and the trans connector changed
Another way is to also remove the TCC/PWM solenoid which is in the front passenger side. If the two solenoids are identical you have a '95 trans. If they are different you probably have a '96+.
The 3 in your code makes no sense....It is definitely not a 2003, It could be a '93 with the wrong pump? Like stated, Pull the pan & see if it even has a TCC PWM solenoid.
And good point - you should make sure it really is PWM and has the PWM TCC solenoid. Pics will help an pro builder like Clinebarger determine exactly what you have.
