Default Need help powerglide to LS?????

I'm gonna use a glide with a LS and trying to find out what I can use?? I'm starting out with a SBE 6.0 with LS3'S and nitrous.Plan on building a 408 later on.I'm trying to get a good glide,I was told the best way would be to use a JW Bell for LS-Powerglide??

Any input I would appreicate it.

How much horsepower are you planning on making? street/strip setup? or drag only?

You don't HAVE to use the ultra-bell. The only difference is the extra 12 o'clock bolt hole in the bell housing vs the factory bellhousing.

Drag only,2900lbs to start with around 850HP,but plan on building another engine with more later on.So if I don't run the Bell what are most doing? Leaving a bolt out is what some have said.I don't wanna do that.

Thanks

that one bolt normally isn't huge concern but if you don't want to leave it then something like the LS-PG ultra-bell is an option. Are you planning on running a stock case glide or aftermarket case? If you go aftermarket case then most of those bell housings already have the 12 o'clock bolt hole.

Are you talking about the flexplate shield pictured here?

I think that's what they're called,it would be the shield that takes the place of using a JW bell.Just wondering what's most running? What fits the best? Are you even running one?

Thanks

We have them available separate from our shield kit.(see below link) The Ultra bell will be the easiest to install as the shield fastens to the bell using the existing bell bolts when mounting the transmission. Plus tunnel room may be an issue. We have the ultra-bells as well as complete units if that's what you're looking for.
