4l60e low-reverse piston removal Hi all...the LR piston in my '95 tranny won't pop loose using compressed air, not even with the regulator set at 90lbs! Any other way to remove the LR piston? Air seems to escape around the piston...and its 'loose' in its place and can be turned easily enough...that normal? I couldn't find any direction via the search feature...maybe I didn't look hard enuff. Thanks for any helps b'ys!
Low/reverse clutches are trashed bad. Everything else looks fine so far. This is a Goodwrench reman transmission.

If the park pawl is out of the way like jays said, use two long needle nose pliers, grab the outside rim that is sticking up at about the 1 and 7 o'clock positions...and gently and evenly pull up.
Oh also...if you don't have the spring retainer out...take it out. I assumed you had it out but...ya never know I guess

you shouldnt be able to turn it, it has a tab and a notch. unless you have it out far enough past that. I think the parking lock is in the way. you need to take the parking mechanism out to get the piston out. Once you do that, you may need to slam the case down (not real hard, start out soft) on carpet, rubber mat, door mat....etc. itll fall out.
