Default 4L60e disassembly and rebuild what is this tiny little piece?

Im doing a stage one rebuild on my 2004 4L60e behind an LM7 in my 1993 Volvo 240 station wagon. When putting the case on end and removing all the internals I found this tiny little "thing" that looks like an old school revet/ mushroom laying at the bottom of my oil pan collector. I have no idea what part of the trans it goes too and I also found an eight check ball and I know theres only suppose to be 7 in the valve bodies. Any help would be great. First few people to give some solid answers I'll send payal money for a 6 pack of beer. Really!!!

Do you have a size reference for the piece? Can't tell how big it really is.

First glance looks like an old attmepted fix for the input drum to replace the checkball but I can't tell for sure. I could be way off base. Get a pic of the input drum...shaft side

Based on what performabuilt said I was able to google that eight check ball and we think that mushroom looking thing could be a rivet that never got pressed so moving on. Not sure what its from but Im not going to worry about it.
