Default 4l60 pinless accumulator better?

Looking at pinless vs a regular aluminum Accumulator pistons what is good and bad about one vs the other?

No leaks with the pinless accumulator piston , but you can't use a pinless accumulator piston in the 1-2 accumulator when using the TransGo shift kit spring set up.

the pinless also seals better with 2 seals

ok this is the kind of down side I was looking for I haven’t seen that before. Would you need a Sonnax spring to make it work? I do like the better sealing.

do you have a TG kit installed or are you planning on a TG kit ?

some have said the TG springs for the accumulator are problematic ( read ...they break ) but I can not personally vouch for that

no the sonnax does not require special springs....but if you get the sonnax shift kit it does come with new springs

I was planning on putting in a trans go kit I have. So the complaint is the sonnax posing and trans go spring can cause failure when combined even if they fit fine? Should I opt for an trans go 1-2 piston instead to avoid issues and just stick with pinnless forward.

The problem with the pinless accumulator piston in the 1-2 with the TransGo shift kit is that TransGo calls for a spring under the piston and one on top of the piston. The pinless piston is a lot thicker than the stock style piston and with the over/under spring there is not enough travel. You can use the pinless piston in the forward and 3-4 accumulator and a stock style piston in the 1-2 with the TransGo shift kit.

the problem is not sonnax pistons breaking TG springs.......its just TG springs breaking

no you cannot use a sonnax piston and TG springs together in the 1 n 2 accumulator

clear ?

Yes, some of the Orange TransGo springs have broken (rarely) in the past. I have not seen one break in quite awhile though.
