Default TH350C with high stall

Building my car right now and have a Th350C (with lockup converter) that I can build and use.
I cannot find much info online about anyone using a high stall lockup converter
I have found that TCI makes a 4000ish stall with lockup clutch for the TH350C part# 242422
I really would like to have the lockup function for highway cursing without having to build a 700r4
Engine is a carbed Lq4 going in a 72 trans am

So I know its a long shot but has anyone ever used the Th350C ? From what I gather they are IDENTICAL in strength to the non lockup TH350s
I obviously wouldn't be using the lockup while under heavy load

thanks

On this site with the 98-02 LS1s',4000 is not considered to be a high stall as once it used to be considered high. 3600-4000 is very common.
TCI are typically recommended to be avoided.
There should be no difference in strength.
Check with CircleD and Yank to see if they have anything to accomplish what you want.

Thanks ive driven plenty of 4000ish stalls in 4l60e's and some 4l80e's but once at highway speed obviously the clutches are locked and there is no more slip
Might call around those and ask I was just hoping to not spend a fourtune on a converter! lol oh well gotta pay to play I suppose

I have used a TCI 4L60E converter and it only lasted 2 months before it was destroyed, I can not speak for their TH350 converter. The lock-up TH350 and nonlock-up TH350 use almost all of the same parts, so strength wise they are the same. Check with other manufactures listed above.

Any convertor that is sitting in on the shelves ready to deliver in places such as Summit, Jegs, or your local auto store should be avoided if it's to be used as a performance convertor.
They may be much less expensive but why spend money and time twice.
CircleD and Yank (and FTI is brought up many times) build you a convertor and then ship it to you.

If anyone can help me out here I would appreciate it.
I have searched ALL over and contacted all the major torque converter makers.
these are my only options for a 10" lockup converter for a TH350C
Engine will be a Lq4, 243 heads, MS3 cam 3.08 gear (might swap to 3.73 depending on how loose converter is)
Car is a 3500lb 72 firebird

Hays Twister ------------------- 3000 stall $450
TCI Super street fighter-------3600 stall $507
Hughes GM35L -----------------3500 stall $630
Hughes GM35LHD-------------3500 stall $685 (doesnt say the difference in these 2)

Obviously with my VERY limited budget the Hays looks very tempting BUT I cannot find any reviews on ANY of these converters in a TH350C
So if anyone has anything bad OR GOOD to say about any of these brands please let me know!
One previous post above mentions avoiding TCI, I have heard some good from them at my local track but dont know how much to trust them lol?

I will not be using the lockup under much power, just while cursing so im not concerned with the strength of the clutch much.
thanks again

How much power are you making? we have a couple different options for the lock-up 350 that may fit your budget.

Around 475 to 500 at the crank
I thought I contacted FTI maybe I missed that one
looking for something in the 10” size around 3500rpm or higher stall speed
also I will not be using the lockup under much throttle I will only be using it just for cruising
thanks
