4l80e rear band damage

You can double check that the 2 anchor pins in the case for that band have not moved.
I do not see this hardly anymore... but in the THM400s it was more common.

pins look well anchored and at the same depth. It really looks like that part of the band was forced past the pin when the rear assembly was set in the case.
also there was roller out of place in the OD drum, looks like it just skated around leaving funny marks here and there, without really any major damage.
fwiw, i bought this trans in a 3500HD truck i parted out. I was told the trans was new GM reman and the engine lost oil pressure (bad oil psi sensor).
I shouldn't be salty i suppose. Selling the 10.5 " AAM dually axle paid for the truck and I ended up making >1000whp on that stock bottom end.

How were the end-play measurements on this unit?
Too much end-play?

Looks like someone misinstalled the band? Parts would damn near need to be missing for endplay to be that far off. You can see the angled wear/witness mark on the band. Sonnax sells a Output Reluctor to save that Output Carrier assuming it's otherwise okay?
Did this unit have reverse?

I have not seen Sonnax offer the out-put speed sensor reluctor in a long-time.
Where are you finding them?
I kept one because I thought they were discontinued.
