Hello, first post here so apologies if it's in the wrong section or has been answered before. Tried the search tool but didn't find anything.
Gonna be running a 6.0 LQ4 with TEA stage 2.5 heads and a BTR stage 3. Swapping from a buddies 6 speed car to my auto. Ran great in his 98 SS car. Mines an 01 Z28. 3.42 rear. Full weight car. If I post this right I'll include a photo of the cam card. But long story short, what's a ideal stall to run with this setup?
Simple solution man call one of the better companies who make stall converters and tell them your setup and they will get you right. You will have a thousand different opinions on here

The reason I posted 3600 absolute minimum is because many 'newbies' to the torque convertor stall realm are terrified/frightened of high stall numbers. Yes, 4000-4400 would be optimal.
Datalogs, or better yet, a dyno run graph would show where the torque comes in on this motor and make this a very easy decision. Especially since it was in a 6 speed car. Do you have access to any such data?

I put a SS3600 into my Z28, I regretted it and bought a 4200 to replace it haha
are these recommendations for drag racing or normal driving? and how do you guys get such a car through inspection if it stalls at 4000+? or do such converters behave "normally" on the street and only stall that high when you feed them full torque?

Gears help them feel tighter. Some states have easier inspections than others. Mine was a DD with the 3600 and I had 3.73 gears.
