Question How much RWHP will 4l60E handle Rebuilt!

Just curious what it will take completely rebuilt. Century has a build that will hold 650 + rwhp. Thats there S2 rebuild. I have there S1 right now and love it. Do you think 750rwhp?

its really hard to say, but I wonder myself how far someone has pushed a 4L60E.
With a setup (408) like you have listed in your sig I would have to go with a TH350/400 trans. One reason why my car will never have much more power than it does right now. It's my daily driver and I dont want anything but a 4L60E in the car.

I have never heard of anyone with a 750rwhp 4l60e. I would think that would be a bit of a gamble

yes they will handle them for a few passes, maybe even a few trips to the track, but if you have 850 hp (even at the crank) with a slick, i promiss that 4L60e even if made with titanium, wont last long. i can **** in a box and guarantee it but what do you really have? lol

I spent tons of money on multiple built 4L60e's, I am going TH400 now. Yea, you lose a little, but its worth it if you make 400+ rwhp

jesus that is crazy. i will bet that either he rebuilds very often or he barely ever races that 4L60e. it looks like it was modeled after a S/E car so probably very light.

I think he weights about 3250 if memory serves.

He does about 10 runs a program, sometimes Sat & Sun programs.

He doesns't spend that much time on his tranny, freshens it up a couple times a year.

He had more problems at first I guess before he found the right formula.

More time spent on trying to fine tune the PCM with Ed Wright than on the hardware.

Why would a company like speed inc advertise something that doesnt handle like they say it would, they dont get reputations like the have by false advertising. Will it last forever, no of course not, but if they say it will hold 850 hp, Ill take their word for it .

When I had my car it was well over 420 @ the wheels for over 40,000 miles with the stock 4L60E. Others havent had such good luck.

How do you cut a 1.28 60' but only run a 10.8 @ 124

ok well how come so many people are running th400? i mean i guess they are fools to have 500 rwhp and run th400 trannys. all things given, if the 4L60e can survive, the 4L60e car will be quicker and faster (gearing and lock up capability)......

I offered an information I had,I am not a mechanic.

I will run a 4L60E because I drive 150 miles to and 150 miles from the track every weekend and need the overdrive. My friends set up seems pretty bulletproof so that is why I trust him with my swap.

He runs the 4L60E because it suits his needs,no one is stupid for using one or another transmission.

From what I hear the TH350 is solid, the TH400 is bulletproof but heavier, each chooses the one that best suits ones goals!!!

time lord, i am not questioning your knowledge at all. it just has been said a million times over and over again that the 4L60e wont hold that kind of power. for a street strip car, sure no doubt, as long as you are ready for constant rebuilds. but i look to the fastest cars on a regular basis and they are in the 500+ rwhp range cars in the mid 10s and quicker and hardly any of them run the stock type tranny. so what is the deal?

any input on the speed inc trannys? i have heard of guys killing them fast personally.
