Convertor questions
Heres my thing....I bought another 01 Z28, and for my next convertor I dont want it to be ALOT looser than the TCI 3500 (looser feeling anyway) but i want it to perform well.
The car gets 90% street use and 10% track use probably.....I guess what im looking for is something that does DECENT on DR's or street tires (with suspension mods) and will really perform on slicks. Do i go higer stall/lower str? What convertor will be good?
Future mods: G5x3 cam, LT's/ORY/Catback, Lid, 3.73's, suspension work, and some other things.
The car will NOT be a DRAG CAR.....just a nice running street car!
Convertors I've thought about so far:
Vig 3200
Vig 3800
TCI 3800
TCI 4000
Yank?? (theres too many to pick from)
Midwest??
I've done lots of searching and havent got the answer im lookin for yet, Please just base this on the looseness and street manners rather than matching it perfectly to the G5x3
THANKS ALOT!! Sorry for the long post!
I'd either go with the TCI4000 (talk to Mike about the STR)
or my personal favorite the PT4x00!
You will need at least a 3800 stall to keep that x3 from ******* out of the hole. That's a pretty big cam!
Maybe the guy from TCI will chime in on this.....somebody that has DRIVEN a car with a TCI 3500 and then a car with a TCI 4000 or another 4000 convertor please chime in.
I remember my last car felt almost stock when I had 4.10 gears and the 3500.
others will chime in about this.
BTW, I switched from the factory RSAs to nitto DR on the back. Made a huge difference on the street. They're great as long as the temp is above 55* F or so. They're like rocks when its cold.

My goals changed a little bit lol......I dont care if it blows the street tires off at 80mph, I'll buy slicks!
With these things given whats the best size tire/gear combo?
TCI 4000 stall, G5x3, bolt ons, nx 150, and of course a tune
