It probably has a higher stall rating. I know back in the 700R4 days there was a certain S-10 and corvette that had a converter with a 2000 rpm stall speed.
Add the weight of the bigger truck and it might stall a little higher.

I love it when people assume everyone knows what they are talking about when they abbreviate things. I hear the trailblazer convertor is smaller but I haven't seen one yet.

Because no one knows. I know exactly how you feel about not getting answers, you think people don't want to help, the real truth is no one knows for sure and I for one don't want to give bad information if I can help it.

The only thing I can tell you for sure is that back when people were using that S-10 and vette converter with the 2000 rpm stall you could go into the dealer and buy and AC Delco and it would be a rebuilt converter.
You may not even know it.
I forgot how much the dealer wanted for one.
I went to a local converter rebuilder (not everyone has one near them) and got them to build me one for $75, yes $75. The owner even let me watch the whole process of building it.
I ran that converter in my s-10 for the three years I had the truck and never had a problem with it. It had a 350 with vortec heads, an engine copied from Chevy High Performance magazine article that was supposed to put out 420 hp. Whether it did or not I don't know, but it would run 13 flat at the track on shitty street tires spinning them at least the first 100'.

Look up Transtar Industries, they can sell you a really nice convertor for short money and you get quality, not junk. They will sit there and explain to you the reason for a high stall on your level, where you can understand. I use the one in New Hampshire and deal with Jim or Dave.

The Trail Blazer converter is for use with an I6 and has a higher stall speed,a full size lockup clutch and slightly smaller in diameter. It's a higher stall stock converter, about 2500 stall behind a 5.3.
