Idle Too High with ST3500

Idle Too High with ST3500 Well the ST3500 is great, only problem being... it set off an SES light: "Idle Too High" according to ATAP. Any ideas? I called and left a message for YANK but their response must be so good it's taken them a couple weeks to finish writing it as it has of yet has not arrived.

Re: Idle Too High with ST3500 If your T/B has been altered, ie; hole size and idle screw, then perhaps you should go back to a stock t/b set-up and start again. <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Re: Idle Too High with ST3500 by the way after installing my ST3500 it doesnt idle good at all...i had to go to a 17/64 throttle blade hole and all...that helped but still sucks very bad...dies at stops and all....any ideas guys......ive had ed wright programing that helped but did not fix it yet.

Re: Idle Too High with ST3500 I sent an email last week to Yank regarding my car throwing the 2-3 solenoid being stuck SES code, and have yet to hear anything back from them.

SES lite from high idle = your idle is now 200 rpms or higher than it was programmed for. Check for
-vacuum leak
-Do you have too big of a hole in your TB for the idle air hole?
-Try closing the blade on by using the idle set screw... this would help the most.

Loco, you need more air. Try raising the set screw on the TB you can go up. Or go one drill bit larger with the idle air hole.
You should see the hole in mine, I run a huge camshaft with 240 duration.

Tried the idle set screw
It's an MTI Ported TB... I was unaware if they drill out the idle hole any, I doubt it... I'm trading throttle bodies with a friend just to see if that could be it. This wasn't a problem before the converter went in... hmmm

Re: Idle Too High with ST3500 My SS idled for crap when I first got my ST3500. Idled real low and fluctuated a bit. Did the idle re-learn procedure and it is better now. Sometimes it'll idle down alittle but not bad. It only died on me 1 time a couple days after install and hasn't since.
Only other problems I've had are:
Occasionally doesn't lock-up at all. I have to pull over and turn the car off and start it right back up and its fine.
SES light...shift solenoid stuck on. its thrown that code several times since install.
If you just have a ported TB and nothing done to the hole in the throttle blade, it shouldn't be the prob. IMO

Re: Idle Too High with ST3500 My car stalls a lot when I'm backing up and sometimes when I take a turn. Gets kinda annoying after awhile. Not sure if its the converter thats causing it. I removed my ASP alt pulley thinking that was causing my problem but it still does it.
