Made A Big mistake, installed a centerforce...nned help and opinions.
It lasted 3 days and 200 miles before the pressure plate came apart. (now I know)
I also have a new master and slave. I need a clutch. I dont want to put a stocker back in, what about the Ls6? i dont have many mods. and dont plan on a lot more soon. I basically need something better than stock withought changing hydrolic's. I cant afford a Mcload, im already out $350 on the centerforce. So whats out there?
Thanks

That sounds like a defect in the pressure plate, as long as everything was installed correctly. I would contact Centerforce and see about getting a refund/replacement.

They said they would repair it, and it would take at least a week. The design is lousy and I cant see how it wouldnt happen again. I'll check out those threads.

You need to use an Adj. Master for any aftermarket PP to work right, or the disc will drag and never disengage 100%.

BTW, the whole pitch from centerforce is that you can use all stock equipment. It worked fine untill it came apart.

Out of curiousity did you even attempt to break in the clutch? I find it hard to believe any clutch could disinigrate during break in. You kept rpm's under 3,000, shifted gently and didn't go over 65mph right????? (that's how I break mine in, others may do it differently)
I would get it replaced and baby it for the first 500 miles like your supposed to and see what happens.

Yeas, It didnt even make it through the break in. the limiters on the weights were pinned at the end of the fingers under the housing of the pressure plate. I had to pry them out with a screwdriver. however, I cant place them back where they were. I dont get it.

I'm having the same luck ,but my clutch won't disengage all the way just thought i'd let you know. Centerforce sucks.

The Z06 (2001+ Fbody) and hydraulics is not a guaranteed fix if you dragrace often.
There is a problem that still exists with the hydraulics sticking to floor when used for racing.
I've used both the 2000 stock clutch and hyd, and the 2001 (Z06) clutch and hyd. Each lasted 12000 miles before pedal stuck to the floor.
I don't believe it's a clutch issue. I think it's a hyd issue. I'm going to put another Z06 clutch in and put an aftermarket master in it.

I had a CF DF that died on low miles also. You need '00+ Hydraulics and an Adj M/C to use the CF DF. But there are better clutch setups out there if you are getting something new.
