Spohn TA is installed
Looks very stout. Some questions:
1) The Spohn has a driveshaft loop integrated, right? How well does it fit? Any banging on underbody?
2) The arm does not attach to the tranny, right? Does the crossmember bolt to the 4 holes where the stamped floorpan crossmember went?
3) Looks like you have BMR subframe connectors. How does the Spohn piece fit with those?
4) What about exhaust clearance? Is there clearance for (future in my case) headers?
Thanks!

I just installed my new Spohn arm too. They are available with the front driveshaft loop on the crossbrace for 40 extra dollars. It fits well and doesn't bang at all. It attaches to it's onw crossbrace that mounts where the factory g-load brace is. Spohn offers two versions of the arm. One normal version and one for aftermarket big y-pipes. so if you get that one you should have no problem with exhaust clearence.

Think there may be more than 2 versions. I know from talking to Steve that the arm I'd need for my SLP 3" y-pipe is different than those with some other 3" y-pipes (G-hann, for example)
When I ordered mine the options on their website were
Normal version / Grott Header y-pipe version
Aftermarket ford 9" rear
Front and rear driveshaft loops
Not sure maybe they do offer one for other headers. shrug

I hope your cars aren't lowered... because you'll be dragging the x-member. You'll become very aware of all the speedbumps in your area.
I finallt took mine off after seeing all the fast cars still using the stock unit.

Scotty - not lowered here. I don't think you'll find too many of the fast guys running the stock torque arm. Problem is, even if it holds up against breaking (like mine) it still leaves a little ET on the table due to flexing. I'm fully expecting to better my 60' with this arm once installed.

I believe Tony (11.0x) and Colonel (9.9x) and PSJ (11.1x) and Raughammer (10.8x) are all using stock torque arms and these guys are cutting 1.4x and 1.5x 60ft's. I'm sure there are many more. The A4 guys usually get an M6 unit which has a stiffening brace welded onto it, or make their own brace and weld it in.
I'm definitely not saying that you shouldn't buy an aftermarket unit...I'm just saying that lots of guys are going fast without one.

Jordon Musser uses a stock one too.
Hell, I don't "NEED" it, just wanted something nice, better looking and besides it was on sale.
It's a hobby <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

Spohn makes a Killer arm.I've used 4 or his arms from 97 to present but decided to try Jay Fishers arm becasue it doenst attach at the G-load area.
Jays is like Madmans and BMRS.I
t has it own crossmember.
Will see if it gives me better 60fts than 1.52 from y old Spohn arm?
