stock 4L60E trans in my 2002WS6. how long do i have
heys guys, i used to own a 94Z28 with the 4L60E and i went through 3 stock tranny rebuilds..i know that the stock 4L60E is indeed a weak tranny but now that i have sold the Z and purchased a 2002 Ws6 with the same 4L60E with 43K on it, i am worried about when it is going to go? how long have you daily driven drivers gone b4 your first 4L60E went out? right now i have a tranny cooler on it thats it. fluid has always been maintained.. is the 2002 tranny the same as my 94?

Its hard to say, every car is driven and maintained differently. The trans cooler and 160* will help prolong its life. FWIW I have 46k 'very hard' driven miles, 15k of them with my torque converter. If your uncertain if its ever had a fluid/filter change go ahead and get it done, new fluid is the lifeblood of the trans.

my car fax says the fluid was serviced at the dealership at 25K. it has 43K on her now and 1K of that being with the tranny cooler. fluid looks good. i mean are there people that can run 100K plus on their stock 1rst 60E? bc i dont seem to read about them

I got 50k out of my stock 4L60e but it's been abused.
Forgot to change the tranny fluid till 40k miles, had seen 50+ track passes, and had 2 accidental neutral drops done in it.
Already have the tranny cooler on it.
The last straw causing mine to shift funny form 1-2 was doing six 100 shot nitrous launches on drag radials, with my 3200 stall.

Oh, and I have two friends here in Austin that have over 100k on their stock 4L60e's but I dont' think either has done a single track pass, and they aren't the street racing type. Yes, they get on it pretty hard, but other than Exhaust/Intake mods they are pretty tame with them.

I've got about 127,000 on my B4C:
116,000 County police miles when I bought it in January.
I drive it hard, no slippage, but then again I think that the B4C has tranny cooler?
