when SuperFlow trained me to operate a Chassis Dyno they warned me to always ask about flexplates and scatter shields. Wish i hadnt asked why cuz Brett told me they had an Operator loose both feet to a flexplate failure of a Gen 2 SBC 327 at about 9000 rpms. you wanna be that guy? 200 bucks kinda sounds like chump change all of a sudden.....

Fyi I dyno'ed a 327 '69 chevelle convertible a few months later and stopped at 8000 revs, i looked at the tack and **** a cinder block.

3000 rpm is 50 revoulutions per second. 6 grand a hundred a second etc.

think about the forces involved, upgrade prob a good idea IMO

damnit, my car has a light grinding sound coming from the front of the trans when its in gear and has sounded kinda weird lately on start

the other day coming up my driveway I heard a very loud bang i thought was a rock hitting the oil pan or something under the car but I couldn't find anyplace that looked hit....wonder if this could be my problem

Always an issue on high horsepower and high revving engines. My stock flexplate lived a hard life (600+ rwhp). I recently upgraded my converter and went ahead and upgraded to an SFI flexplate while I was there.

Ok, so 420rwhp and 6200rpm shouldn't be a problem. My friends 01 v6 camaro always has a grinding noise when he starts his car. Think that could be the problem? He hydrolocked the engine and tried starting it a couple times.

Cat/Vig here, went in easy and NO! issues shimmed it with hardend machined washers and used ARP bolts that are just slightly longer red loctight.
