Default How Streetable is a 3500 Converter

Let's get some feedback on what it is like to drive with a high stall converter. For this poll, I'm talking about a ST-3500 / SY 3500 /PYE 3600 from Yank or a Vig 3200

It looks like we have the same thoughts on the converters.

I'm on that same boat, I have a 4000 stall, had it for almost 3 months, and I think it's time to move up

ST3500 works great for daily driving. just don't try racing from a stop though or the tires will just spin.

I'm not a fan of the looseness, BUT it was entirely and most definitely worth it for the utterly awesome performance gain.

Ragtop - You know how **** I am about looseness in a converter.Well I just got my #4 Vig back from a restall to a 3200,and I have to say it's just NOT LOOSE.For me to say that even surprises me! Maybe it's my 3.73's but this thing feels just fine in traffic. My vote is for "not even knowing it's there"

Can't wait to see what it does at the track.

Ok, I've had the restall back 1 day & I can honestly say I could've tolerated more stall!! I can't believe I just said that.

Got the PT4000 and no worries for daily driving. I also have 4.10 gearing, so that helps a bit. On;y time I notice the "looseness" a lot is when in reverse. Seems to take quite a bit more throttle to get her going

AFTICA: That's cool, but I'm surprised you can't notice it. Be interesting to see how high you can brake stall and how your times change.

I am interested in getting a vig 3200 of ST-3800 for my 98 Z28 and a trans cooler. Will the excessive stall kill my stock trans? I can't afford a new tran yet!

I notice my ST3500 is there, but really never think about it. It's become normal.

2000rpm to take off slowly, 2500-3000rpm to take off fairly quick, 3500+ and your haulin some serious ***!

With my F1's I can lay rubber@40mph in 2nd gear. Never even thought that possible without 400hp...until I got my ST3500 that is

99MONGOOSE:

With the cooler I don't think you will hurt your trans. Just how many f-bodys do you own? The '98 isn't even in your sig.

I count four

Sorry I thought I thought I updated my sig here too, I know I did on www.Ls1.com . I bought a 1999 SS M6 brand new, I had a 1987 Iroc-z 5.7 tpi since 1996, I just got the 1998 Z28 A4 last xmas, and I convinced my Fiance' to ditch the 1998 Cobra in favor for a 2000 WS6 M6. So we then got the WS6. I bought th 1998 Z28 becuase it was really cheap: every option except in dash CD(it has tape deck and 12 disk GM chager-no monsoon) and no traction control, every other optio though and its only had 25,000 miles for $12,100!!! I work at a BMW dealership and our CHEVY store had it. They didn't want to have it for 5 months before they sold it dure to our Ohio weather so they sold it cheap- lol to me!!!
