Default Is it possible to get too big a converter?

I got a PI3600 and my 60's dropped about 2 tenths but my ET actually went up. From 12.7 to 12.8.

My shift extension is about 5000. Which I think is a bit too high for a bolt on LS1. I already swapped my TCI back in and hope for a 12.5 with my new headers.

I am gonna send my PI back to get restalled to a 3200. Hopefully that will be the right setup. I've been chasin the all elusive 1.5 60 for awhile.

Later, Stu

the vig3600 is prolly just hitting your tires too hard....plenty of people have run in the 11's with boltons and that verter...one with stock manifolds/cats, and one with nitto's.

And.. I think that's why Stu had trouble with the big Vig. Just a guess.. But I'll bet his rev limiter is set to low.

Hey John, I've got my limiter set at 6300 and my shift points at 0 on the 1-2 and +2 on the 2-3.

It seems like sometimes she quits before the shifts. I can't figure it out.

I just want a measly 12.5

My MPH wont go over 106 either. I hit 108 once with the TCI in really, and I mean really, good weather.

Thanx, Stu <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

BTW. Is it possible that my suspension unloading after launch could cause the motor to hit the limiter?
I found a blown shock on the right rear. Messin with my 60's. The best I could get was a 1.78 the other night at Cecil. She would hit real HARD off the line then spin then hit the limiter then shift to 2nd and pull.

I found it because my Mufflex was rubbin. That never happens. Thank goodness it did.

Stu, I need an airbag, Meek

If your 60' improved by .2 and you ran a slower ET, it was weather or some other factor.

Well.. I'm a little more extreme than most.. but I say put the limiter at 6600 and put to shift points at stock and .. let it eat .. Then start messing with the shift points from there.

What stall speed was the TCI?

My Thruster Pro shift extension was a little under 5400 rpms. I don't think the drop points are hurting you. Like WILWAXU I had my limiter at 6600 and wound up using +3 for both 1-2 and 2-3 shifts with 3.42's and 20x10.5-15 ET Streets

Also when I didn't dead hook and reamin hooked my shift points were all over the place and would beat the limiter up on the severe loss of traction once I got it back under control

WILLWAXU,

Do you think your car would go faster with a TP4400 or do you like your UT?

Bob, That was the answer I was lookin for.

I think my busted shock was lettin me hit the bumpstop on the launches and unloading my suspension and spinnin. Thus, screwin with my shiftpoints.

John that TCI is rated at 3500 but I can only see 2600 to 2800 out of it.
Super Street Fighter my rear!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Later and thanks guys, Stu
