A nice big tranny cooler solves that.

Install a cooler at the same time you install the converter. Its easy and prety cheap.
I had a 3800 and just upgraded to a 4400. Its not bad at all.

I believe I got mine for $50-$60. I suggest to get it put on at the same time. Which converter are you looking to buy?

My 3800 is a daily driver. Check with B&M, that's who I used. Pretty easy to install and well worth the money!

You will only spend 50 bucks on a tranny cooler. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should cheap out on it...

I've been daily driving my TCI4000 for a month now, and I like driving it like this more than I did stock. I also have a B&M 24k cooler hooked up "Dope" style, and the tranny temps haven't gotten over 165 so far, even hot lapping it at the track, and next week I'm throwing on a TCI Deep Pan (2 quarts extra), so I don't see any problem with tranny heat at all.

With a 3800 you should have no problems once you get used to it.It will feel "looser" at first like your not going anywhere from the start.A trans cooler is definitly a good investment(more heat is generated from new 'verter), and another set of rear tires are always a good idea.too.$.02

Note that he has an LT1. 3800 is considered quite high for an LT1 ...

Aha about time someone caught that...

Go with a 3200 for the LT1. Any higher and you will rev past your powerband.
