Worst day ends with P0751 code
SO after I go up north to Massena, NY I get pulled over for the exhaust, even though they said if I didn't take off so fast they wouldn't have pulled me over but I still got a ticket, then leaving Governeur, NY on my way home a trooper inspection stop gets me for the tint cause they said I had a nice car and I already got the exhaust ticket.
So as I pull in the driveway the SES light comes on and code P0571 comes up saying the Shift solenoid A CKT Performance or Stuck off.
My Z has been pulsing in and out around 35mph and 45mph but 40mph and 30mph are smooth, almost like the car doesn't know what to engage or gear.
I have a vibration that I have been trying to get a handle on in the 1700rpm to 3000 rpm range in fourth gear or speeds between 70-80mph.
I just got the converter installed last week. Whats up bad converter or install?

you got the code wrong, its po751 but not biggie. That code along with po757 is a code often thrown when an aftermarket converter is used thats higher then 3,200. Basically the computer sees that the converter is slipping too much(still thinks the stock one is in there since its programmed for it). Once it sees the slipping it throws the code which locks you out of certain gears.. The reason you threw the p0751 code vs me throwing the p0757 code i think has to do with the year of the car. I do know for a fact that the 2001-2002 f-bodies love to throw the po757 code right after a converter swap.. I often hear of other codes being thrown but on older cars only after a converter change... Well all in all you just need the code turned off and it wont happen again..

Nope I'm about an hour from ya in Syracuse, NY.
I'll have the tranny retuned once I can get it to the tuner, but until I get this vibration out of the car I will not be to get it done. The tuner had to pull the car of the dyno the car was vibing so bad. As it sits now the car only vibrates when the car is in the rpm range 1500-1800. I put the car in D at about 75 and the vibe went away at 80mph. I think at that rpm range something isn't right but at levels above that is smooth. At 70-75mph there still is a vibe but not as bad since I have rebalanced the tires for the fifth time (finally found a good enough shop).
