Out of all the trans rebuilders I talked to about half said that Trans go is great and half said it's junk and will burn up bands. That left me confused.

If you just want firmer shifts then biller intermiediate servo and overdrive servo will firm them up. Make sure though you use Alto red lined band cause the stock one is not going to last long with those servos.

If you want to extend the life of your tranny then you got a long list of parts to replace.

I believe it's pretty importatnt thing to know if you have stock tranny

well, after i installed TC, yes, true, i could felt when it was shifting, but then i removed torque managment(changed/tuned PCM at all) and now i don't feel when it's shifting at all, very firm shifting...

so, anyone else ?
People saying that race ready trannies from SLP or FLP go with already trans go shift kit pre-installed already(or similar kit, that makes shifts firmer, or something)

Most people will agree that a shift kit is better than none if it is installed properly.

While this is being discussed, I have a question--hopefully not a stupid one. I have stock converter & gears, but this fall will be upgrading to Vig. 3200 and 3.42's.(now have the 3.23's) I have HPP3, and have firmed up the shifts by 50%, and raised the 1-2 shift to 6,000 rpm. Oh, my car is a '02 SS. Seems to work o.k. so far, but what happens when I change the converter and gears? My best is 13.21, 106.5, w/2.01 sixty w/Nitto's, airbag, boxed lca's, & shortbelt mod only. Will I have to throw HPP3 out? Anyone.... Thanks. You must have it to adjust the speedometer for the different gears and will likely need it to mess around with shift points after the converter install.

Make sure you remove the 'Shift Firmness' if you're going to install a Transgo. Both the Hypertech and the Transgo advise not to use with each other.
