Default shift selanoid

where is shift selanoid B in the transmission. my stall wont lock up, it threw the code for that selanoid, and it wont go into overdrive, it would be nice to change it if i knew where it was.
by the way, what does it look like?
thanks for the help.

The shift solinoids are the two black ones towards rear of trans , they are identical , i ussually suggest changing them as a pair , question what was the number of the code you got ?

Here is a picture of a valve body with a vac mod set up. On the bottom of this photo there are two solenoids that look the same. These are the solenoids that you will need to replace. I would replace them both of them at the same time. If you need them go to our web page and send us a email or give us a call. Vince

That is and indicator of a bad solinoid and replacing it would be a good first step but that code is actually set when the solinod is comanded on or off and the manifold sensor doent send the right signal back to the pcm , So though it is likley the solinoid there are a couple other possibilites also ,
stuck shift valve
bad switch in manifold sensor
But again its most likley the solinoid and as i said and vince repeated replace them as a set ,
I wish I know how to post pictures someone needs to show me sometime !

If I remeber right, they are about $25 each at the dealer. Just be careful when you pull the clip off them and take them out.......
One is OK, and will come right out, but the other has a spring loaded valve with a check ball in it. I know this cuz I was chasing them down the driveway after they flew out of the valve body.

I'm a little confused to what your question is. Are you asking about the shift solenoids,trans, vac-mod....etc. I believe there is pricing on our web page for all the solenoids w/harness. If you need just the solenoids send us an email or give us a call and I will get you a price.Vince

Does this help:

...
6. goto an image hosting site such as imageshack.us or webshots.com;
7. press the "browse" button, browse to your image file, select it, and press OK;
8. press the "host it" or "upload" button;
9. the hosting site displays a link to your image, highlight and copy this link (choose the simplest looking link with no [] tags);

10. when replying to a thread, press the yellow/grey "mountain" picture button and paste in the link into the popup box, press OK;
11. finish typing your reply, and submit the reply.

Do you have a converter in your car? If so, if you let the car sit for a while, does the vehicle shift and lock up normal?
