Default Will a 4l60e from an 98+ ls1 car bolt up to an lt1?

as the topic states, will the 4l60e from the 98+ ls1 cars bolt up to an lt1?

what about the converter... do they use the same torque converter?

thanks for any help that can be provided.

Nope. If I understand correctly, the spline count is different. Not an expert, just read a lot. Check the trans sites, they should tell you more info.

I have been checking around for information, and the only thing I have heard is the input shaft being different lengths in the lt1 vs ls1 applications?

no.. i was saying he swapped his lt1 motor out with an ls1 and used the stock c4 corvette transmission behind an ls1. he had to buy an ls1 converter to make the swap work.. the ls1 flywheel/ flexpate bolt hole diameter is not the same so if you were to try the swap you would have to use the lt1 converter in the ls1 tranny.

OIC what you were saying.

I also am wondering if he would elaborate on that simple "nope", as I am trying be more well informed on the topic.

they wont match up directly, 2 different types of bell housings.. converters, pump drive shafts, flex plates and internal electronics..

I think the C5 transmission and the LT1 transmission are similar. Notice on Gearstar's website they have their transmissions listed but they will also have C5 listed on the first one and then the second one will say "for LS1 applications."

LT1 4L60E....28spline shafts, different bolt arrangement on the Bell housings, and the electronics changed a bit from the LT1s to LS1s....the LS1 4L60Es have 30 spline shafts....now if im not mistaken..you could swap the LS1 internals over to your LT1 based 4L60 alongwith the flexplate and the use of a LS1 Verter....but that is just hear say...never actually seen it done..

ok.. so i did some searching.. the torque convertyer seems to be the issue.. but there is a simple solution which would be calling whatever torque converter ocmpany you polease and have them mate the from half of an lt1 verter to hte rear section of a ls1.. presto changeo.. as far as the electronics i don't see how there could be a difference seeing as how they share the same 13 pin connector..
