Default Yank SS4000 installed!!

Just swapped out my ST3500 2.5 STR to a SS4000 2.6 STR and I am in love! It actually drives pretty similar to the 3500 until you go WOT. It'll move at 1500 but takes about 2500 to stay with traffic. Shift extension is ~5100. It pulls hard from a stop all the way to 130 (didn't get a chance to go past that and didn't really want to). Highway runs are a beautiful thing. Once again, I am extremely pleased with my second Yank converter. I was looking into the SS3600 but am very happy that I stepped up to the 4000. Go big or go home . Gotta get a tune and some good tires and then I can take it to Memphis and see if I can improve my 12.9.

This converter is super tight in town....I was really surprised. It drives almost exactly like my ST3500 in town. WOT is a whole new ballgame. On street tires, it spun them through 3rd gear like it was nothing. At 75 MPH, it flashes to about 4500 and pulls from there. Slowed down to ~45 and nailed it and it was at the top of 2nd almost immediately and catching 3rd. I love seeing that tach needle stay over 5K RPM's. It pulls substantially harder than my ST3500 did up top, and it was no slouch. I can't speak about the SS3600 since I've never had one, but I would HIGHLY recommend the SS4000 to anyone. It is not anywhere close to too much for the street.

Maybe I should have gone all out for the PT4400 . Seriously though, I am thrilled with this verter.

Basic bolt-ons for now. Cam will come this fall...another reason I went with the SS4000. I'm looking at the MS4 or maybe a 231/237. I want something big, but somewhat streetable. It is a great verter for minimal mods IMO. And it will only get better with more mods.

No not yet. I am going to put in some cosmetic head gaskets and head studs first, as well as a racetronix fuel system and a FPSS.

SS4000 is awesome. I also replaced my old ST3800 with this and it hits so hard.

Glad you're happy! I went from an ST3500 to a PT4000 and LOVE it. I'm thinking about changing to the SS4k for a heavy nitrous hit tho.

That's what I'm hoping...with the 4K, tune and DR's, I should be pretty close to the 11's. My 12.9 was with a lid and exhaust only on BFG KDWS's. I can't wait for March when Memphis opens.
