What is so common in this thread is every one talkin about percison industries's customer service.
Is yanks customer service that bad?
What is it, if i have a problem I wont be able to get ahold of some one or they give u a a run around or what?

Ive owned Vig Yank and TCI over the years....
Yank hit hard but the lock up sucked and eventually died... (TP4400)
TCI lost the lockup in 2000 miles (TCI 3000)
Vig was perfect the entire time I owned it (three years) I had the Vig 3000 stall
I would go with the Vig 3600 personally, it's a proven combo with good warranty and free restall...

the company will reset the stall speed to another speed, like 2800 to 3600 or 4000 back to 3200 , its for people who decide that they dont like the speed they got.
somone else can elaborate on the mechanics of it

I say go for an SS4000. Definately don't go less than a 3600 though.
If you decide on a PI though, in case no one mentioned it (which I'm sure they did) remember they stall a little higher than advertised. To me, that's a good thing though.

That's definitely the case with my PI 3600....according to dyno runs, as well as simulated 1/4 mile runs on Mustang Dyno, mine flashes to about 4200....That's all well & good, but mine also seems a little too loose in "regular" driving. Nothing I can't handle, but figured I'd share my experience with one of the converters mentioned.

The car will move when you touch the gas pedal just as it does now. It'll just take a little more pedal since the higher stall speed gives a slipping effect...That same "slip" is what gives the car a greater launch...It's different feeling for sure, but after a week, you'll wonder why all automatic cars don't run a higher stall....lol.

That is one of the biggest misconceptions about a higher stall speed converter.

I've posted in here in the past, but I just upgraded to a Yank PT4400 and I must say it is by far the fastest, most awesome converter I've run. This is my 3rd converter....first was a Yank ST3500, then a Yank SS4000. This thing is much faster from highway rolls than the SS4000 was. Shift extension is crazy (~5800-5900 RPM's). I'll never go back. It is extremely loose on the street...gear swap is in the near future. But it is bearable and the WOT pulls are worth it. I'll post up a full review after I get it tuned.

So from what I read so far, Yank converters are tighter. Is that because of their higher STR? Are looser or tighter ones more suitable for street driving? I've seen Yank's statement about the efficiency of their converters. Are the vigs comparable?
